After ever war ever fought when all the soldiers return home there is a baby boom. A baby boom is when there is more people of the same age than any other age group. Shortage

Everyone thought that there sons, fathers, friends, and soldiers returning home would be a great thing. But what realy happened was due to the fact that so many people came back from the war there was just not enough houses. On top of the home shotage there was a shotage in jobs. When alot of men left for war there was a need for workers. These jobs were filled by women and Africa Americans. When the soldiers came back a new bill passed The G.I. bill which gave alot of soldiers jobs. The role of women went back to normal but the women didn't like this so began the womens right movement.

POWs

While many soldiers were celebrating there were some who weren't. When the war ended German POWs were sent home. But any that were held by the Red Army were kept until as late as 1955. Some probably were never released and spent the rest of there lives as POWs. For those soldiers the end of the war ment nothing to them.

Celebration

Almost every family in Europe and America was affected by the war. Everyone had sons and fathers fighting in the war. When the war was over and soldiers were returning there was much celebration. Partys and parades were everywhere. Soldiers returning were conceded heros. Everyone thought that life would go back to normal or get better.
